Inside the UT-ExxonMobil partnership

The students – along with UT faculty and ExxonMobil scientists – are working on solutions to some of the biggest energy challenges.

This university-industry partnership takes aim at the dual challenge of providing more energy with fewer emissions. UT is one of five energy centers around the world supported by ExxonMobil where students are able to collaborate with academic and industry researchers to apply groundbreaking ideas to concrete industry applications.

For one student, that means analyzing Texas’ energy grid to better understand the role of renewables. For another, it’s creating 3D printed geological reservoirs to see how to naturally sequester carbon dioxide.

These passionate young scientists are moving the needle on world-class energy scholarship – all without missing a class.
