In 2013, ExxonMobil construction workers found fossilized dinosaur bones while building a road to two of the company’s exploration blocks in western Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale formation. Given the circumstances of the find, paleontologists decided to name the extinct beast Viavenator Exxoni, or “hunter on the road to Exxon.” Watch this video to learn about the discovery and how ExxonMobil worked with a local museum to preserve and study the fossils.
