ExxonMobil plans to invest $2 billion to expand its Baytown chemical complex in Texas. The new buildup, which is expected to create 2,000 new construction jobs, will help the plant keep up with the growing demand for the everyday products it helps make.

The expansion comes just a few years after the Growing the Gulf Initiative, which added a new ethane cracker unit to the Baytown plant.
